CNY Mom Prom is Back!
After a seven-year pause, Central New York’s favorite girls’ night out is officially back. The CNY Mom Prom will return on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Vernon Downs Hotel, bringing an evening of joy, connection, and community purpose to women across the region.
The event is organized by three dedicated local moms, Monica Walts, Lori Sherwood, and Allison Ingmire, who have been raising funds for cancer causes in Central New York for years. Their passion for helping families facing cancer fueled the revival of Mom Prom, and they are excited to bring back an event that so many women have missed.
A National Movement With Local Heart
CNY Mom Prom is part of the nationwide Mom Prom movement, a series of women-led events across the country where women come together in their best (or funniest) prom attire for a night of dancing, laughter, and charitable giving.
While Mom Proms happen in cities and towns nationwide, the CNY Mom Prom has always had a uniquely local purpose: giving women a fun, meaningful night out while supporting neighbors in need.
All Proceeds Benefit the Cancer Care Fund
Every dollar raised from the event supports the Oneida Health Foundation Cancer Care Fund, which provides immediate, direct financial assistance to local cancer patients undergoing treatment. The fund helps cover essential needs such as:
- Transportation to appointments
- Groceries
- Co-Pays
- Out-of-pocket medical expenses
This support eases financial strain so patients can focus on healing, not hardship.

Women ages 21+ are invited to dress up, whether it’s a glamorous gown, a thrift-store treasure, or a beloved dress from years past, and enjoy a night filled with:
